CBSE Class 12th English Chapter 7 - The Interview is one of the chapters included in the Literature section of the English syllabus. The “Literature Text Book and Supplementary Reading Text” section accounts for 40 marks in the question paper. The theory paper in English will be conducted for 80 marks and 20 marks will be provided for the internal assessment. The reading section will consist of 22 marks and the writing section will be conducted for 18 marks. Two textbooks are assigned to cover the Literature section in English core: Flamingo and Vistas. Chapter 7 - The Interview in a Prose included in Flamingo. Along with this chapter, the following chapters are included in Flamingo:  The Last Lesson Lost Spring Deep Water, The Rattrap, Indigo, Poets and Pancakes, Going Places, My Mother at Sixty-Six, Keeping Quiet,  A Thing of Beauty, A Roadside Stand, and Aunt Jennifer’s Tigers.

In the supplementary reader Vistas, the following chapters are included The Third Level, The Tiger King, Journey to the End of the Earth, The Enemy, On the Face of It, Memories of Childhood, The Cutting of My Long Hair, and We Too are Human Beings. These books are published by NCERT according to NEP 2020. The questions from the Literature section will be included in Section C of the question paper. This section will have a variety of assessment items including Multiple Choice Questions, Objective Type Questions, Short Answer Type Questions, and Long Answer Type Questions to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and extrapolation beyond the text.

The questions from the chapter may come as long answer type questions for 6, 5, or 10 marks according to the question paper set by the Central Board of Secondary Education. CBSE has also recently released the date sheet for class 12th students on the official website to be considered accordingly. The class 12th board exams will be conducted from February 15, 2025, to April 4, 2025. The CBSE Class 12 English Core exam will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
