CBSE Class 12th English Chapter 6 - Poets and Pancakes is prose in Flamingo. Along with this chapter, the following chapters are also included in the book: The Last Lesson, Lost Spring, Deep Water,  The Rattrap, Indigo, The Interview, Going Places, My Mother at Sixty-Six, Keeping Quiet, A Thing of Beauty, A Roadside Stand, and Aunt Jennifer’s Tigers. There is also one supplementary reader included in the curriculum, Vistas. The following chapters are included in the supplementary reader: The Third Level, The Tiger King, Journey to the End of the Earth, The Enemy, On the Face of It, Memories of Childhood, The Cutting of My Long Hair, and We Too are Human Beings. The questions from this chapter will be included in the last section of the board question paper. The English question paper has a total of three sections and Section C consists of the Literature section.

The theory paper for English will be conducted for 80 marks and the remaining marks are allotted for the internal assessment. The internal assessment consists of an Assessment of Listening Skills for 05 marks, an Assessment of Speaking Skills for 05 Marks, and Project Work for 10 Marks. A total of four questions will be included in the board question paper from Flamingo.

One Poetry extract out of two, from the book Flamingo, to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, inference, and appreciation for 6 marks, one prose extract out of two from the book Flamingo, to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, inference, and evaluation for 6 marks, short answer type questions (from Prose and Poetry from the book Flamingo), to be answered in 40-50 words each. Questions should elicit inferential responses through critical thinking. Five questions out of the six given, are to be answered. Each question will carry two marks, one Long answer type question, from Prose/Poetry (Flamingo), to be answered in 120- 150 words. Questions can be based on incident/theme/passage/extract/event as reference points to assess extrapolation beyond and across the text. The question will elicit analytical and evaluative responses from the student. Any one out of two questions to be done. Each question will carry 5 marks.
