CBSE Class 12th English Chapter 1 - The Last Lesson is the first chapter of Flamingo. Along with this chapter, the following chapters are included in the book: Lost Spring, Deep Water, The Rattrap, Indigo, Poets and Pancakes, The Interview, Going Places, My Mother at Sixty-Six, Keeping Quiet, A Thing of Beauty, A Roadside Stand, and Aunt Jennifer’s Tigers. The Last Lesson is a prose. The literature section will account for 40 marks in the board question paper for English core. This section will include questions from both the books prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The questions will range from short answer type questions, very short answer type questions, and long answer type questions according to the marking scheme prescribed by CBSE.

The theory paper in English core will be conducted for 80 marks. Apart from Flamingo, the Central Board of Secondary Education has also prescribed an additional supplementary reader for the curriculum, Vistas. The following chapters are included in the supplementary reader: The Third Level, The Tiger King, Journey to the End of the Earth, The Enemy, On the Face of It, Memories of Childhood, The Cutting of My Long Hair, and We Too Are Human Beings. If you want to prepare well for the exam, then you must understand the story behind every chapter and note down the important facts that can be asked about during the board exam. Try to analyze the environment in which the story is set and then quiz yourself based on facts.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has already released the latest curriculum and sample question papers on the official website of CBSE Academics, which can be downloaded in a PDF format. To prepare for the exams, you are required to download the latest syllabus online and then revise using the sample question papers. If you want to practice more questions, you can download the previous years' question papers, which are also available on the official website of CBSE at cbse.nic.in. Make sure to pick up these question papers only after completing your syllabus to understand them.
