CBSE Class 12th English Chapter 6 - On the Face of It Memories of Childhood is a chapter in the supplementary reader: Vistas. Vistas is a supplementary reader published by the National Council of Education Research and Training, New Delhi. Along with Vistas, one other book is also prescribed by CBSE to cover the English course syllabus in class 12th which is Flamingo. The literature section is filled with questions from both of these books. In the board question paper for English core, there will be a total of three sections. The last section, Section C will include the questions from literature. There will be different types of questions included in this section from both books. Specifically from the second book, one Prose extract out of two, to assess comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation for 4 marks will be included.

Short answer type questions, from Prose (Vistas), to be answered in 40- 50 words each. Questions should elicit inferential responses through critical thinking. Any two out of three questions to be done. Each question will carry two marks. Lastly, One Long answer type question, based on the chapters from the book Vistas, is to be answered in 120-150 words, to assess global comprehension and extrapolation beyond the text. Questions to provide analytical and evaluative responses using incidents, events, and themes, as reference points. Any one out of two questions to be done. The question will carry 5 marks. In conclusion, a total of three questions will be included in the question paper from Vistas.

The theory paper in English core will be conducted for 80 marks and the remaining marks will be allotted for the internal assessment/project work to be submitted before the theory papers. The Central Board of Secondary Education has already released the class 12th date sheet on their official website to be downloaded in a PDF format. The class 12th board exams will be conducted from February 15, 2025, to April 4, 2025. The CBSE Class 12 English Core exam will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
