What is the history of IBPS?

After the nationalism of banks in 1969 the requirement of branches in all over India increased because all banks wanted to increase their customer reach. So all banks asked the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) to help them in the selection process. On the basis of demand, they introduced an examination named Personnel Selection Services (PSS) which was later converted into IBPS in the year 1984.
