NIMCET Full Form

NIMCET full form is the National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications  Common Entrance Test. The examination of  NIMCET is conducted by the National Institute Of Technology, Jamshedpur. The examination is conducted at the national level every year.

The NIMCET examination is conducted by the National Institute Of Technology, Jamshedpur commonly known as NIT, Jamshedpur. Through NIMCET students get selected among  11 NITs across India depending on scores achieved in NIMCET. NIMCET provides only admission in NITs that offers MCA course and in India, there are a total of 9 NITs that offer MCA course which consists of NITs  Allahabad, Agartala, Bhopal, Kurukshetra, Jamshedpur, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli, Surathkal and Warangal

About NITs 

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) is a prestigious institute of technology under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. All institutions of NIT are governed by the National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research Act 2007 which provides them recognition to all NITs of national importance. There are a total of 31 institutes of NIT which are located all over India. All NIT institutions are funded by the government of India.

NIMCET Eligibility Criteria

Before enrolling for the MCA course at the National Institute of Technology all interested candidates have to qualify institute’s entrance examination which is NIMCET. Below are the eligibility criteria for the NIMCET Examination

Educational Qulaification: 

• The candidate should have a bachelor's degree of B.Tech/B.E with a minimum of 3 years from any recognized university or college 
• The candidates holding a degree of B.sc or B.sc Hons or  BCA or BIT, for 3 years from any open university are also eligible 
• The candidate must have a minimum of 60% or 6.5 CGPA out of 10 and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD category must have a minimum of 55%. And 6.0 CGPA out of 10

Nationality 

The candidate must be an Indian citizen

The examination of NIMCET is organized by the National Institute of Technology. Candidates must go through below mentioned pattern for the NIMCET examination

Examination Mode: Online/ Computer Based Test (CBT)

Examination Duration: 2 hours

Total questions: 120

Total Marks: 480

No. of sections: The examination paper is divided into 4 sections- Mathematics, Analytical ability and logical reasoning, computer awareness & General English 

Marks Distribution: For every correct answer  4 marks will be taken and for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted.
