What is the Full Form of WBJEE? 

The full form of WBJEE is the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. This entrance examination is organized by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for students who wish to get into the B.Tech and B.Pharma courses in the universities, government colleges, and engineering and technical institutions of the state of West Bengal.

One must have passed the "10+2" exam in order to enroll in the course of B.Tech, with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, or Computer Application as required topics. The "10+2" test including Physics, Chemistry, and one of Mathematics, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, or Computer Application as required topics must also have been passed by candidates wishing to enroll in the Pharmacy course. 

Who Can Apply for WBJEE? 

Candidates who wish to apply for admission to Engineering and pharmacy programs through WBJEE must meet the eligibility requirements established by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board. Candidates who wish to take the WBJEE  exam must meet the requirements listed below.

  • Candidates must have successfully completed the 10+2 exam at a recognized institution or board of education.
  • Candidates must be residents of West Bengal and be citizens of India.
  • Candidates must be older than 17 years of age.
  • Candidates who fall under the general category must have received at least 45% of the maximum grades. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD, and other reserved categories must have received at least 40% of the total maximum grade.
  • It is essential for the candidates applying to receive at least 30% in the English course in order to pass the eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates for the B.Tech programs must have completed the 10+2 program with Physics, Mathematics, and one of the following: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Computer Science, or Computer

Application for any vocational subjects. They are required to have a combined score of 45% in the three subjects listed, whereas candidates from the reserved group need a score of 40%. The Indian Central Government or the relevant state government must acknowledge the qualifying exam.

  • Candidates seeking admission to the Marine Engineering program must be at least 17 years old and under 25. Candidates who don't fit the specified age range won't be taken into consideration for admission.

How to Apply for WBJEE?

Candidates wishing to sit for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination have to fill out the application form. Here are the steps to apply for WBJEE: 

  • Registration: The registration process for the WBJEE can be fulfilled by going to the official website of the WBJEE. On the official website, locate the application form page. For registration purposes, enter the candidate's name, email address, and mobile number.
  • Login: Following their successful registration, candidates must log in using the application number and password that were issued to their registered phone number and email address.
  • Fill out the online application: Candidates can complete the online application form by providing information such as examination, personal details, academic details, contact information, and parent/guardian details after receiving login credentials.
  • Upload documents: Candidates must submit a scanned copy of their latest passport-size photo as well as their signature. Documents must follow the instructions regarding size and be that size.
  • Payment of WBJEE registration fee: The process of paying the WBJEE 2024 fees is done online. The candidate's net banking, debit card, credit card, or Paytm account must be used to pay the registration fee of INR 700.
  • Printing the confirmation page: Take a printout of the final confirmation page of the application form after downloading the entire WBJEE application form. Candidates must print this out and retain it for future use; doing so is absolutely necessary for all the aspirants.

WBJEE Exam Pattern

Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are included in the WBJEE question paper. It is an offline exam (pen and paper-based test). The WBJEE question paper is split into two parts, Part I and Part II. The Mathematics Paper is in the first portion, and Physics and Chemistry are in the second paper. It is mandatory for candidates applying to the engineering courses to attend both parts.

The question paper is in English, has 155 questions, and has a maximum score of 200 according to the WBJEE exam pattern. Each component of the exam will last two hours, and candidates will have four hours to finish it.

WBJEE Marking Scheme: Each correct response will receive one mark, while each incorrect response will receive a negative marking of one-quarter of the marks assigned for each correct response. Candidates are urged to answer carefully because any wrong response will result in a deduction of marks
