JE full form is Junior Engineer. They are selected through the SSC examination for the post of JE in various sectors of engineering which includes civil, mechanical, electrical, surveying and contracts posts for different departments under the Government of India
As mentioned above the full form of JD is Junior Engineer. They are considered recruited as entry-level positions in different fields of engineering. The JD are responsible for handling office and fieldwork. To become a JE, interested students have to clear the JE examination which is conducted for selecting students for administrative and technical positions in various departments. The examination is held at the national and state levels. The examination for JE is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) which aims for hiring candidates for different fields in engineering which include civil, electrical, mechanical, surveying and many more.
The JE examination is conducted by SSC it is a process by which engineering graduates are shortlisted for the post of Junior Engineer in various government departments. The SSC conducts the JE examination at the national level once a year. The level of examination is considered hard and is based on English and Hindi medium.
Age: The minimum age for applying for the examination is 18 years and the maximum age is 32 years
Qualification: The candidate should have a graduation degree in engineering
The examination pattern for SSC JE is divided into two papers. Paper 1 will be based on computer mode and paper 2 will be paper passed only students who cleared paper 1 will be able to give the second paper.
Paper 1 will be based on objective questions and will be divided into three sections, the candidates have to attempt 200 questions in a duration of two hours.
Paper II will be for 300 marks and questions will be based on the descriptive type and the time duration will be two hours

As the post is recognized as starting level thus the salary is not high as the basic salary starts from approx. 35,400 per month. The salary of JE in India ranges from INR 1,50,00 to INR 4,70,00 and the average salary is about INR 2.7 LPA
