How was RCB Named?

Vijay Mallya wished to connect the franchise to promote one of his best-selling liquor brands- McDowell's No. 1 or Royal Challenge. The name comes from the choice of the ‘Royal Challenge’ brand. The earlier version of the logo included the RC insignia in yellow on a round red base surrounded by the black phrase "Royal Challengers Bangalore'' in a standardized manner. The notable modification to the logo's design was in 2009 with the substitution of gold for yellow color. The RC insignia was also encircled by a dotted white circle in the logo. With many modifications, a new design with a larger lion and the crown from the former emblem was released in 2020.
