UIDAI full form is the Unique Identification Authority of India. It is a Governmental Body that is in charge of implementing all the plans related to Aadhar. They also aim to provide a unique identity number to every Indian citizen. The UIDAI headquarter is located in New Delhi and it also has 8 regional offices situated in different cities.

As mentioned above the full form of UIDAI is the Unique Identification Authority of India. It is known as the authority or agency of the Indian government that manages and implements all schemes and plans related to Aadhar. The main purpose to establish the body was to provide a unique number that can be used as identification for the individual; this also helped in eliminating duplicate and fake identities cards. 

The UIDAI headquarter is situated in New Delhi and the other 8 regional offices are located in different Indian cities. UIDAI also has two data centers which are located in the states of Karnataka and Haryana. The current CEO of UIDAI is Mr. Amit Agrawal.

  • The Body was established on 12th July 2016 under the Aadhaar Act of 2016 by the Govt Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
  • The UIDAI unique identification number consists of 12 digits

  • In January 2009, the Govt. formed an associate office 
  • On 7th January 2013 data center was established in Manesar Industrial Model Township (IMT) located in the state of Haryana.
