SSC GD full form is Staff Selection Commission General Duty. It is a national-level examination conducted by the SSC and the Ministry of Home Affairs in order to select candidates for constable posts in Govt organizations such as BSF, CAPF and many more.

As mentioned above the full form of SSC GD is Staff Selection Commission General Duty which is conducted once every year by the SSC and the Ministry of Home Affairs for selecting candidates for constable and rifleman posts in different government organizations or agencies. The candidate has to clear 4 stages of the exam to get selected.

Eligibility criteria for SSC GD

Candidates before filling out the application form must go through the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria may differ for different categories. Before filling the form, the candidates must check the eligibility criteria.

  • Educational: The candidate should be 10th pass
  • Nationality: Applicant should be a resident of India
  • Age limit: Candidate should be between the age of 18 -23

How to register for SSC GD?

Below are the steps to register yourself before filling out the application form:

1.       Visit the official website i.e ssc.nic.in

2.       Find the option for ‘New user’

3.       A screen will be displayed enter all the information required such as name, DOB, etc

4.       Later, you will be asked to enter your mobile no and email.id

5.       You will receive an OTP for verification

6.       Enter that OTP and create your account

How to apply for SSC GD?

The following are the steps to fill SSC GD application form:

1.       Go through the Official website

2.       Click on apply now option

3.       Click on SSC GD constable

4.       Go through apply on option

5.       Fill out all the required information correctly

6.       Upload all the required document

7.       Review your application form once again

8.       Pay the application fee amount and then submit

9.       Download or take the printout of the Application form for future reference

Exam pattern for SSC GD

The SSC GD examination is divided into 4 stages:

1.       Computer-based Examination (CBE)

  • It is an online test
  • Test is Completely based on Multiple Choice Question
  • Duration of 60 minutes
  • Total Marks 160
  • Total questions 80
  • It consists of 4 sections

2.       Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Physical fitness test on the basis of parameters
  • Identification test
  • Race completion within the time limit

3.       Physical Standard Test (PST)

  • Testing on physical standards such as chest, height and weight

4.      Detailed Medical Examination (DSM)

  • After clearing PET and PST have to appear in a Detailed Medical examination
  • Examined by the Medical board’s CAPF officials

Exam syllabus for SSC GD

SSC GD examination is a computer-based examination which includes MCQ and candidates need to answer 80 questions per question consisting of 2 marks within 60 minutes. The below table consists of the SSC GD syllabus section-wise. For every wrong/ incorrect answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted.
