CTET full form is the Central Teacher Eligibility Test conducted on a central level. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has set the minimum essential qualifications required to become a teacher for Classes I-VIII. This benchmark and essential qualification is set according to the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 23 of the RTE act. According to this, candidates need to qualify the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). As per data, lakhs of candidates appear for the CTET exam every year to obtain the CTET certificate and become eligible to be recruited as Primary or Elementary teachers in centralized schools such as KVS, NVS, etc.

 

What is CTET Full Form? 

CTET Full Form is the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET is a national-level eligibility exam conducted by the authority known as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The CTET exam is held every year to determine the candidates eligibility for appointment as teachers in Central Government Schools such as KVS, NVS, and several other state/govt/private schools. The CBSE conducts the CTET exam online in computer-based test (CBT) mode. CTET 2023 Exam Details

CTET is a teaching eligibility examination that is conducted every year to test the eligibility of candidates as Primary Teachers from class 1 - 5 and Elementary Teachers from class 6 - 8. CTET Syllabus 2023

CTET Qualifying Marks 2023

In order to qualify for the CTET Exam, the candidates need to score minimum qualifying marks set by the exam conducting authority. CTET Qualifying marks and percentage for different categories are listed below. Take a look to appear to prepare preparation strategy accordingly:

CTET Eligibility Criteria 2023

To pass the CTET Exam, the candidates must be eligible to attend the exam. Few eligibility criteria for primary and elementary teachers are:

Eligibility Criteria For Primary Stage Teachers 

  • Passed in 10+2 from any recognized institute with minimum 50% of marks.
  • Passed in 10+2 board exams with minimum 50% of marks & appeared/passed in final year of Diploma in education.
  • Graduated from any stream with minimum 50% and should be a B.Ed holder from a recognized institute.

Eligibility Criteria For Elementary Stage Teachers 

  • Graduated from any stream or appeared/passed in final year of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed)
  • Graduated from any stream with minimum 45% and should appear/passed 1 yr in B.Ed course.
  • Passed 10+2 boards from any recognized institute with minimum 50% & appeared/passed in final year of B.EI.ED
  • Passed/appeared during 1st year of B.Ed in Special Education. 

CTET  Complete Exam Process

Step 1: Filling CTET Application Form 

Aspirants willing to appear for CTET Exam 2023 need to fill out their CTET application forms online on the official website i.e ctet.nic.in till 29th May, 2023. As per the guidelines, the candidates also need to pay the CTET application fee of INR 1,000 for one paper and INR 1,200 for two papers respectively.

Step 2: Downloading CTET admit card

Once released, the candidates can download the CTET admit card from the official website of the exam. The admit card for the CTET exam contains relevant details related to the aspirant such as candidate’s name, exam course, roll number and the exam time and date. It also mentions the candidate’s exam center address as well as reporting time for the exam.

Step 3: Appearing for the CTET exam

As per guidelines, the aspirants need to report at their CTET exam centers at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam to avoid any hassle. The exam duration of CTET is two-and-a-half hours for two papers each. Paper 1 needs to be taken by aspirants who want to qualify for teaching to class 1 to 5 i.e primary wing. Paper 2 is for candidates who want to qualify for teaching to class 6 to 8 i.e elementary wing.

Step 4: CTET Result

CBSE releases the CTET results on the official website. Candidates who qualify the exam get a CTET eligibility certificate which can be used to apply in various schools. Now, the validity of the CTET eligibility certificate has been extended from seven years to a lifetime.
