  2. For the District Probation Officer Post – The candidates must have passed a graduation degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Diploma from any department of Social work from any recognized university.
  3. For the District Administrative Officer Post – The candidate must have a degree of Post-graduation which is accepted for the Post of District Administrative Officer Post.
  4. For Assistant Conservator of Forest or Range Forest Officer Post – To apply for this post, the students must be a graduate in any one of the subjects- Mathematics, Chemistry, Geology forestry, Zoology, agriculture, Statistics, and Physics.
  5. For Sub Registrar and Assistant Prosecuting Officer Post – To be eligible for this post, the student must complete the graduation in Law field.
  6. For Assistant Labor Commissioner – The appearing student must have graduated in arts and the subjects must include economics/ sociology/law.
  7. Labor Enforcement Officer – To apply for the Labour Enforcement Officer, the student must have graduated with any one of the subjects- Sociology, Personnel Management, Labor Welfare, Trade Management, Social Work, and Economics.
  8. Statistical Officer – The candidates willing to apply for the statistical officer post must have a post-graduation degree in Mathematical/ Agricultural, Statistics, and Mathematics.
  9. District Adult Officer – To apply for District Adult Officer, the basic eligibility criteria for the candidate is to have graduated with a Commerce degree
  10. Designated Officer – To be eligible for Designated Officer, a post-graduation degree in Chemistry, a Bachelor’s degree in technology, Bio-technology, Oil technology, Dairy technology, or biochemistry is required.
  11. Controller Legal Measurement Assistant – The candidates appearing must have graduated with physics and possess a mechanical engineering course.
  12. Child Development Project Officer – An undergraduate degree in Home Science, Social Science, Social Work, or Sociology is required to be eligible for Child Development Project Officer.

Exam Pattern of PCS

The PCS examination is conducted in three stages successively- Preliminary, Mains and Interview. The PCS exam pattern comprises the subjects, time duration and marking scheme of the exam. The preliminary stage has two question papers in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) while the PCS Mains examination has 8 papers in descriptive mode and the interview stage is conducted in the offline mode.

Syllabus of PCS Examination

The PCS notification mentions the syllabus for prelim in addition to the mains too. PCS Prelims examination has GS papers and the questions are framed from subjects like current affairs, international geography, general science, economy, Indian polity, Indian National Movement, general and mental ability, Hindi and more. While the mains examination is descriptive in nature having 8 papers of 1500 marks in total, the questions are asked from subjects like general Hindi, easay, general studies and optional subjects.

Duties and Responsibility of PCS Officer

When posted as sub-divisional magistrate, additional city magistrate, or city magistrate, a Provincial Civil Service (PCS full form) officer’s normal duties include:
