About RRB

The Railway Recruitment Board also known as RRB is responsible for conducting examinations for recruiting candidates in Group C and D for Railways jobs. The RRB was earlier known as Railway Service Commission but later in the month of January 1985, it was named as Railway Recruitment Board.

Below mentioned are the different types of examinations conducted by RRB for recruiting candidates in Indian Railways:

What are the different job profiles hired after RRB NTPC?

Through RRB and NTPC candidates are hired for post levels of 2,3,4 and 6

  • Junior Clerk cum Typist:  They are responsible for keeping transactions, and expenditures in railways 
  • Accounts Clerk cum Typist: They work under the account and finance department in the railways 
  • Junior Timekeeper: They have to assist with the trains movements and keep time records of every train

What is the selection process of RRB NTPC?

Following are the stages which are involved in RRB NTPC:

  • 1st Stage based on CBT
  • 2nd Stage based on CBT
  • Typing skill
  • Medical examination

What is the examination pattern of RRB NTPC?

The examination is divided into 3 stages which include 2 stages of online examination and 3 stages consisting of Typing skill test 

Stage 1

  • The paper is divided into 4 sections
  • Total 100 questions
  • Total for 100 marks
  • Total time duration 90 minutes 
  • For each incorrect answer 1/3rd marks are deducted

Stage 2  

  • The paper is divided into 3 sections
  • Total 120 questions
  • Total for 120 Marks
  • Total time duration 90 minutes
  • For each incorrect answer 1/3rd marks are deducted

Stage 3 

The candidate has to type 30 words per minute in Hindi or English language.

What is the salary offered after RRB NTPC?
